GNOME Senet
I have been working in my spare time on a project to write a Senet game using the GNOME framework. Senet isn't a well-known board game, but it's very easy to learn and strikes a fun balance between chance and strategy. I learned of Senet back in 2010 from an episode in the 6th season of the TV series Lost and have been playing it since ~2011. I purchased a now-unavailable desktop Senet game at the time supporting networked play and enjoyed playing against friends remotely. A few years later, I convinced my parents to purchase a physical game board and played almost-weekly from 2013 to 2023.
After reading about support for writing GNOME apps in Typescript, I thought it'd be a good entry into both writing a GNOME app and producing a piece of Free Software I feel confident enough to share with the wider world.I use Typescript in my dayjob, so I thought it'd be fun to try writing my first GNOME app in that language. More to come soon
